T20 World Cup 2024: With the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching, selectors are zeroing down on the players who would be part of India squad for the ICC marquee event which starts from June 2.

The ongoing IPL 2024 has emerged as the perfect dress-rehearsal opportunity for the players to audition for the mega event. Five players - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rinku Singh - are sure to be part of the squad unless they are hit by an unprecedented injury.

Rohit Sharma has already been declared India captain for the T20 World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah is India's premier pacer, while Ravindra Jadeja world-class all-round skills also makes him an obvious choice.

Virat Kohli has also brushed aside all the doubts, and is proudly holding the Orange Cap. He is the leading run-scorer with 379 runs in eight matches at an average of 63.17 and a strike rate of 150.39. Rinku Singh has got enough opportunity to bat, but he booked a place long ago.

There is a stiff competition going on for the remaining spots. While there are more than two contenders for the wicketkeeper-batters slot, there is also a traffic jam in the top-order. Also, there are concerns over the fitness of a few players. For example, Suryakumar yadav is playing as an Impact Substitute.

He missed the first three matches for Mumbai Indians (MI) after failing to get fitness clearance from the NCA. He underwent an ankle surgery, and a separate surgery for sports hernia.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shubman Gill - are the 10 players who are almost certain of getting a place in India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Yuzvendra Chahal has once again emerged as the the standout spinner in the IPL 2024. Kuldeep Yadav has been India's first choice spinner for a while now, and is among the top five wicket-takers in IPL 2024 (Till Match 37).

Shivam Dube has been in supreme form, and has done well after his India comeback. Rohit Sharma also used him as a bowler as well in the Afghanistan T20Is. Dube was adjudged Man of the Series for his all-round show.

There can be a major toss up between Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Gill is leading the race while leading Gujarat Titans (GT), while Jaiswal has managed to score just 121 runs in seven matches at an average of 17.28.
