Australia star Marcus Stoinis has thanked the IPL after his scintillating knock against Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday (June 16).
Marcus Stoinis played a brilliant knock of 59 runs in just 29 balls to help Australia win a crucial match against Scotland in the group stages.

Stoinis came at the crease in a crucial time and batted exquisitely. He hit 9 fours and 2 sixes and took the Aussies closer to their target. Australia won the match by 5 wickets in the end and thus advanced to the Super Eights with a 100 per cent winning record in the group stages.
The knock won Stoinis the Player of the Match award and the Aussie thanked his IPL stint for his batting form.
"I've been playing consistently, getting chances over the last 3-4 months and in the IPL, that's helped me keep up with the form and get the runs," Stoinis said after the match.
The Australian has been a regular in the IPL 2024 for the Lucknow Super Giants. He honed his batting role brilliantly for LSG and seems to have continued that in Australia colours.
Stoinis stitched a crucial partnership with Travis Head in the middle, who scored 68 runs in 49 balls to steer the ship in the right direction. Despite a difficult start to the run chase, the duo steadied the quest and Stoinis heaped praises on his partner and credited Head for changing the momentum.
"There was a strong breeze and that was the area to hit, the pitch was really good and I thought the Scots batted well. We (himself and Head) were just talking about batting along, take on one bowler and I think he changed the game with those three sixes," he added.
Australia are in Group 1 of the Super 8 teams will take on India, Afghanistan and likely Bangladesh in the next stage.
