Pakistan will be hoping to finish one position higher as they take part in the T20 World Cup 2024.
They are slotted in Group A and will kickstart their campaign against USA on June 6. They will take on arch-rivals India on June 9, followed by two more group-stage matches against Ireland and Canada.

The PCB has named a strong squad for the tournament, which consists of returning stars Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim. Babar Azam is set to lead the side after he was reinstated as T20 captain after a brief hiatus post World Cup 2023.
Pakistan hasn't had the best of times recently as they lost the T20I series against England. As the men in Green prepare for the grand scheme of things, there will be eyes on most of their star players. Here are five key players to keep an eye on for Pakistan in this T20 World Cup-
Pakistan captain Babar Azam will have an important role in the tournament. Apart from his batting, the captaincy will be closely monitored. Babar has been a fantastic performer over the years for Pakistan and it is to be seen how he elevates his game in the T20 World Cup. After being reinstated as captain, Babar will have to now step up and lead his team from the front.
Mohammad Amir has come out of his retirement and is set to play a crucial role. With prior experience at the highest level, Amir will have to spearhead the pace attack along with Shaheen Afridi. He hasn't had the best of time since coming back to the international fold, but the left-arm pacer will be someone to keep an eye on.
Pakistan selectors were planning to put Shadab Khan as Babar's deputy, but his lack of form led to the Pakistan team taking part in the T20 World Cup without a vice-captain. Shadab has decent all-round ability which can be handy in the West Indies and USA conditions. His spin bowling and batting in the middle order will be pivotal for the Pakistan side and it is to be seen how the 25-year-old performs in the tournament.
All eyes of the Pakistani supporters will be on Haris Rauf, one of the highly acclaimed bowlers of their team. The pacer has been injured for some time but was still included in the squad. As Pakistan commence their campaign, it is to be seen how the premier pacer fares for them. A fit Haris Rauf can be a menace for the opposition and the Pakistan team management would be dseperate for that.
Pakistan's 22-year-old prodigy Saim Ayub has been one of the most discussed players in the country for some time. The southpaw has abundance of talent as is regarded as a top prospect. But the start to his T20I career hasn't been that fluent and the World Cup will be a huge opportunity to showcase his class. Ayub averages around 15 after 19 innings in T20Is, something he will be desperate to improve in the upcoming tournament.
