In a significant update from the Indian cricket selection committee, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are poised to be the wicketkeepers for India's squad at the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, reported news agency ANI.

A source from the BCCI selection committee shared insights with ANI, stating, "Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are likely to get selected for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad as wicketkeepers. Shivam Dube is also likely to get picked in the squad."

This season, Pant has been in stellar form in the IPL, scoring 371 runs in 10 matches at an impressive average of 46.38 and a strike rate of 160.60. He ranks fourth in the race for the Orange Cap in the current 17th edition of the IPL.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, has also shone brightly, accumulating 378 runs in nine matches at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 144.27, making him the third-highest run-scorer this season.

Shivam Dube's selection consideration comes on the back of his powerful hitting this season. Playing a pivotal role in Chennai Super Kings' title defense, Dube has amassed 311 runs across eight matches, boasting an average of 51.83 and a remarkable strike rate of 169.94.

His performance includes three half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 66. Dube leads his team's run charts this season, slightly ahead of teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is set to kick off on June 1st in the USA and West Indies. India's campaign will start on June 5 against Ireland, followed by a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9, both matches being held at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

With the inclusion of such key players, India aims to bring a strong and versatile team to the global stage, ready to tackle the challenges of the T20 format.
