Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn was impressed with compatriot Kagiso Rabada's match-winning display over England in the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Daren Sammy National Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Friday (June 21).
Rabada's bowling figures of 2 for 32, especially his spell in the death proved vital as South Africa registered their second successive win in the Super Eights and continued their unbeaten run in the ongoing show-piece tournament.

Following South Africa's impressive 7-run victory, Steyn took to social media to express his delight and was full of praise for an "agressive" Rabada, who turned the match in the death overs.
"An aggressive Rabada equals a winning SA team. When he gives a f***, and he showed that today, we inevitably win," Steyn posted on X after South Africa got closer to a semi-final spot.
Rabada, who removed an in-form Phil Salt in his very first over in the defence of 163, conceded 10 runs in his first two overs, bowling at the dangerous Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow. While he gave away 8 runs in his opening over, Rabada conceded just 2 runs in his second.
The speedster then returned for his second spell in the closing stages when England were well on their way to seal a win after Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone took him on in the 15th over of the match, resulting in Rabada conceding 18 runs in his third over.
With backs against the wall, defending 35 from 18 balls, Rabada returned to the attack to tilt the tie in the Proteas' favour by removing Livingstone in the second delivery of the 18th over and gave away just 4 runs from his final over of the match.
Fellow pacers Marco Jansen (0/31) and Anrich Nortje (1/35) followed up Rabada's match-turning over with excellent final two overs as South Africa restricted England to 156/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Lone spinner Keshav Maharaj (2/25) also bowled a tidy spell.
While Jansen conceded 7 runs in the 19th over, leaving 14 to be defended in the ultimate over, Nortje removed Brook of the very first ball to and gave away just 6 runs to seal a 7-run victory for South Africa.
Earlier, put into bat, South Africa rode on Quinton de Kock's 65 off 38 balls and David Miller's cameo of 43 from 28 balls to post a decent total of 163/6 in 20 overs. For England, Jofra Archer (3 for 40) was the top wicket-taker.
South Africa will next face West Indies in their final Super Eight match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua & Barbuda on Sunday (June 23).
