India captain Rohit Sharma has led the team to a victorious T20 World Cup campaign as they beat South Africa to clinch the 2nd title on Saturday (June 29).
After a fantastic outing in the T20 World Cup so far, team India crossed the final frontier and won the match by 7 runs.

Rohit Sharma and his team finally found redemption after the heartbreak in the World Cup 2023 Final, when India lost to Australia last year. Seven months after that disaster in Ahmedabad, the whole country is in elation as the men in Blue hoisted the Indian tricolour in Barbados.
And as Rohit led the troops towards a victorious campaign for the Indian team, he also racked up a few records in this T20 World Cup campaign.
Rohit Sharma was part of the Indian team which won the T20 World Cup in 2007. After lifting the trophy today, the Indian captain is the only Indian player to taste the T20 World Cup glory twice in his career.
Rohit Sharma has also become the first captain to win 50 matches in T20I cricket. The Indian captain is followed by Pakistan's Babar Azam, who has won 48 matches. The win in the Final also meant India has now equalled their biggest winning streak with 12 victories in a row.
Rohit Sharma has become only the 3rd India captain to win a World Cup. The great Kapil Dev won the inaugural World Cup for India in 1983. Under MS Dhoni, India won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011.
Most Runs in T20Is
Rohit Sharma has now the most T20I runs in the world. He started the tournament as 3rd in the list, but has toppled both Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. The 37-year-old currently has 4231 runs in the shortest format of international cricket.
