New Delhi, Jun 17: Harbhajan Singh has praised India's performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 group stage. He highlighted Hardik Pandya's impressive bowling and Rishabh Pant's good run at the number three position as key positives. India has advanced to the Super Eight stage without losing a match in their group.
India defeated Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA before their last league game against Canada was called off due to a wet outfield in Florida. Rohit Sharma led the team effectively throughout the group stage matches.

"The biggest positive is that Hardik Pandya took wickets. He was the fourth bowler in this tournament. But if you look at his wicket tally, he has done much better than expected," Harbhajan said on 'Star Sports'.
Pandya, who struggled in the IPL, has taken seven wickets in the World Cup so far. He has bowled at full capacity, dispelling concerns about his fitness.
Pant, returning to international cricket after a severe car accident in 2022, has also excelled. He has a strike rate of 124.67 in the tournament.
"Rishabh Pant played at number 3. His role was completely changed. Before this World Cup, we thought Sanju Samson would play because he has made big runs. To make Rishabh Pant play at number three is a big positive," Harbhajan said.
This strategic move has strengthened the team's left-right combination, adding depth to the batting lineup.
India will begin their Super Eight campaign against Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados. Harbhajan believes the team is ready for the new conditions, having played all their previous matches in the USA.
"There are a lot of positives. Of course, there are challenges and difficulties. But challenges come to those who are brave. This team is a team of brave players. They fought well and played very well. Because of this, they topped the group," he said.
