It was redemption tuning for team India in the port city of Georgetown as they lifted their 2nd T20 World Cup title after beating South Africa.
Rohit Sharma's men beat the Proteas by just 7 runs in the final to end their long wait for the World Cup. After two ICC final heartbreaks in the last twelve months, it was a pivotal victory for team India.

After scoring 176 runs with the bat, India restricted South Africa to 169 runs and pulled off a heist. Emotions were running high in the India camp as the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and others were seen crying in joy.
India has been handsomely rewarded for their outstanding achievement. Apart from winning the T20 World Cup title for the 2nd time in their history, the men in Blue have also received a large amount of cash prize.
The prize money for the winning team was USD 2.45 million, which is Rs 19.95 crore in Indian currency. India won around INR 5 crore in 2007 after winning the T20 World Cup, which they won in South Africa beating Pakistan in the Final.
