Rinku Singh, who is a travelling reserve for Team India, for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, in the USA and West Indies, lifted his maiden IPL trophy as his team Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday (May 26).
Shreyas Iyer-led KKR registered a comprehensive 8-wicket win over SRH to be crowned the IPL champions for the third time at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Rinku - who has been a part of the KKR side for the last seven years - will now be travelling to the USA to join the Indian side.

However, the Uttar Pradesh all-rounder revealed that he's not travelling to the USA immediately. Instead, he's going to take a detour before joining his fellow India teammates in the United States for the marquee event.
While interacting with JioCinema after his team's win over SRH, Rinku revealed he's first going to Noida before flying to the USA. Rinku has a flat in Noida. With the IPL trophy in hand, Rinku Singh has set his sights on another prestigious title i.e. the T20 World Cup.
He confidently declared, "I am headed to Noida first and then I will be going to the USA. You guys watch, I will also be lifting the World Cup." His ambition and confidence are clear as he prepares for the international stage, aiming to replicate his domestic success at the global level.
The first batch of Team India players, including captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, landed in New York ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The BCCI shared a video of their arrival on social media. Among those who boarded the flight to the West on Saturday were Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and the coaching staff.
On Monday, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and travelling reserves Shubman Gill and Khaleel Ahmed have all reached their destination.
Star cricketer Virat Kohli is expected to arrive in New York in time for the T20 World Cup warm-up match against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya is expected to travel directly from London.
