Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul can be one of the frontrunners for the India squad in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup will take place just after the conclusion of the IPL 2024, and KL Rahul is going to be in the running as a wicketkeeper-batter.

KL Rahul has made a decent start to his IPL 2024, scoring 286 runs in seven matches so far. Rahul scored 33, 39 and 39 in the last three matches, and then scored his 2nd fifty of the IPL season with a magnificent 82 against Chennai Super Kings in the last match.
The 30-year-old has captained LSG brilliantly and former India player Robin Uthappa reckons Rahul has made a case for himself and will further bolster his India chances if he continues his prolific run with the bat.
"Over the last couple of weeks, I was thinking, I don't think he's going to figure in the World Cup squad, but if he continues to bat the way he is batting now he'll find himself a spot," Uthappa said while speaking to JioCinema.
"Whether it's as a reserve opener and wicketkeeper, that's a dual role he can fulfil. He just makes batting look so beautiful. He's one of those guys who makes it for a viewer, a delightful experience to watch cricket, an easy experience, and just all the other shots that he plays," the former India played added.
India does have many options as a wicketkeeper better for the upcoming T20 World Cup. There are the likes of Rishabh and Sanju Samson, who are at the peak of their play and can be among the front runners. While veteran like Dinesh Karthik has shown his brilliance and prowess, which makes it a tough call for the selectors to choose the two players for the upcoming tournament.
