T20 World Cup 2024: No Virat Kohli! Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube Axed as Well! Sanjay Manjrekar goes Wild with his India Squad

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has made a bold pick for the India squad by axing Virat Kohli from the team for the T20 World Cup 2024.

With the India squad announcement days away, the former India cricketer announced his predicted squad for the T20 World Cup, and Virat Kohli didn't find a place in the team.

No Virat Kohli!

Virat Kohli's exclusion comes as a surprise. The RCB batter is the highest run-getter so far in IPL 2024 with 430 runs. He has also batted at a strike rate of 145 this season, which looks kind of a baffling decision from Manjrekar.

Instead of Kohli, Manjrekar has picked KL Rahul in the squad, who has scored 302 runs so far in this IPL with a strike rate of 141.

The likes of Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube find no place in Manjrekar's team. The latter has showcased his batting prowess for CSK and all the experts have kept him in their predicted India team but Manjrekar. Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson are the two wicketkeepers picked while Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav also find places.

The former India player has picked either KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant to deputized Rohit Sharma in the World Cup.

Krunal Pandya, Harshit Rana In!

Hardik Pandya is omitted but Manjrekar has picked Hardik's older brother Krunal Pandya to partner with Ravindra Jadeja as all-rounders. Although Jadeja is an automatic choice, Krunal's inclusion in the team is another surprising one.

Pace attack can be a big weapon for India in the West Indies and USA, and the ex-India player has gone with five options. Jasprit Bumrah has found a place in his team, while Mohammed Siraj and Avesh Khan are also there. LSG sensation Mayank Yadav and KKR pacer Harshit Rana are also in Manjrekar's India squad for the T20 World Cup.
