Australia pacer Pat Cummins etched his name in history with a hat trick against Bangladesh in the Super 8 match on Friday (June 21).
Cummins picked up three wickets in three deliveries against the Tigers as they could only score 140 for 8 in 20 overs.

In the 18th over, Cummins dismissed Mahmudullah. The Aussie pacer cleaned up Mahmudullah and then dismissed Mahedi Hasan in consecutive deliveries. In the first ball of the 20th over, Cummins got the wicket of Towhid Hridoy to complete his hat-trick.
With the stellar performance, Cummins has become only the 2nd Australian to claim a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup after Brett Lee, who registered the feat in the 2007 T20 World Cup against Bangladesh as well.
Cummins ended up with figures of 3 for 29 in his four overs. The 31-year-old took his wicket tally to 6 in this T20 World Cup. The Australian was also awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy ahead of the match.
Cummins received the award from former Australia captain Ricky Ponting after being adjudged as the ICC Player of the Year 2023.
