T20 World Cup 2024 will be an historic event as 20 teams will compete for the title in the show-piece tournament, which is scheduled to be held from June 4-30 in West Indies and USA.
The 20-team tournament will see the teams divided into four groups of five teams each with the top two from each group advancing to the Super 8 round, where the eight teams will be split into two groups of four teams each.

The top two teams from each group of the Super 8 round will qualify for the knockout stage, starting with the two semi-finals followed by the winners of the last four clash meeting in the final. The tournament will be staged across 10 venues - 7 in West Indies and 3 in the USA.
After the conclusion of the last edition and the hosts selection, 12 teams had secured their places for the 2024 show piece with the remaining 8 places confirmed via region-based qualifiers with Africa, Asia and Europe providing two teams each and the Americas and EAP providing one team each.
Now, with the tournament dates and the participants locked in, here is a look at the teams that have booked their place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA:
West Indies and USA as tournament hosts were automatic qualifiers, while the top 8 teams in the T20 World Cup 2022 (top four in each Super 12 group), along with the next best teams on the MRF Tyres ICC T20 International Rankings cut-off date of 14 November 2022 also booked their spots.
The top 8 in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 were England, Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Netherlands and Sri Lanka, while Bangladesh and Afghanistan were the next best ranked teams to make up the 12.
In July 2023, Papua New Guinea booked their berth via the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Qualifier, while Scotland and Ireland confirmed their tickets via the Europe Qualifiers.
Later in September-October window, Canada clinched their first-ever spot via the Americas Qualifier, while in October and November, Nepal and Oman booked their spots via the Asia Qualifiers
