India has announced the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which will be led by Rohit Sharma.
Announced on April 30 by the BCCI, the team includes prominent players like Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, and four spinners, alongside three pacers. The tournament is set to kick off in West Indies and USA on June 1, placing India in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, USA, and Canada.

The squad composition reflects a strategic mix of batting and bowling talents. Notable inclusions are Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, expected to play key roles. The team also has Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube as part-time pacers, underlining the selectors' focus on versatile players.
With Rohit Sharma at the helm, the squad's core is robust. The batting lineup boasts talents like Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant, while the bowling department includes Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah among others. The selectors also included four travelling reserves for the competition.

Among the IPL teams, Mumbai Indians have the biggest representation in the India squad. Also both the captain and vice-captain of the Indian team play for MI in the IPL. Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav are the MI quartet who will don the India blue in the T20 World Cup.
Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals have three representatives each, followed by Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru with two representatives. Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh is the solitary representative of the franchise in the Indian team.
DC and RR have one player each among the travelling reserves as Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan are picked. GT and KKR also have their solitary representation in the reserves with Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh respectively.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants are the two teams that have no players selected in the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.
