Spinner Sandeep Lamicchane joined a unique list on Monday (June 17) as Nepal bowled out Bangladesh for 106 in Group D match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent.
With figures of 2 for 17, Lamicchane went on to become the second bowler from an Associate Nation team to claim 100 wickets in T20 Internationals, and 16th overall in the history of the format.

Only Oman's Bilal Khan had reached the century mark from Associate Nations before Lamicchane, who achieved the feat with the dismissal of Jaker Ali and Tanzim Hasan Sakib in Monday's match. Here is a look at the players with 100 or more wickets in T20Is:
By reaching the landmark in just 54 innings, the Nepal leg-spinner also became the second quickest in terms of innings to take 100 wickets in T20Is. Lamicchane is only behind Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan for fastest 100 T20I wickets.
Coming back to the match, Bangladesh were bundled out for 106 in crucial match that could have a say on their chances of Super 8 qualification. A win assures Najmul Hossain Shanto's side a spot in the next round, but a defeat will see them relying on Netherlands' result against Sri Lanka.
Apart from Lamicchane, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee and skipper Rohit Paudel also claimed two wickets each, while two wickets came via run outs. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan top-scored with 17 as they posted their seventh lowest total in T20 World Cups.
