As the countdown to the Men's T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA next month continues, both Scotland and Uganda have unveiled their squads, stirring excitement and anticipation among their fans.
The selections bring seasoned players and new faces into the spotlight as these teams prepare for a global showdown. Scotland has named a strong 15-member provisional squad welcoming back experienced players like Michael Jones and Brad Wheal.

These selections signify a bolstered lineup as Scotland aims for a robust performance at the World Cup. Notably absent, however, is Josh Davey from Somerset, who misses out despite his current form, possibly due to commitments with his county team.
The inclusion of Michael Jones and Brad Wheal, cleared by their respective counties for participation, will add depth to Scotland's campaign. The team also welcomes Charlie Tear from Sussex 2nd XI, who will be looking to make his mark on the global stage. The squad sees the return of most players from Scotland's recent T20 Tri-Series, suggesting a strategy built on team continuity and experience.
On the other side, Uganda is set to make a historic first appearance in a senior men's ICC World Cup in any format, with Brian Masaba leading the squad. The team sees the inclusion of the tournament's oldest player, 43-year-old Frank Nsubuga, demonstrating Uganda's blend of experience and youth. Vice-captain Riazat Ali Shah, another critical player, brings his expertise to the forefront, enhancing the team's competitive edge.
The Ugandan squad has undergone a few changes from the team that secured their World Cup spot through the Africa qualifiers. New additions like allrounder Juma Miyagi and medium-pacer Cosmas Kyewuta, who performed exceptionally well in the African Games, are expected to contribute significantly.
