T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be down to just four teams from the 20 that started the show-piece tournament after the completion of the tightly contested Super 8 stage.
As 20-teams competed for the first time, T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and the Caribbean became the largest in terms of the number of nations participating after the previous editions were contested by 16 teams.

The 20 teams were divided into four groups of five teams each for the first round, which on completion saw the competition reduce to eight teams that were further divided into two groups of four in the Super Eights.
In Super 8, the group winners from A and C joined the runners up from B and D in Group 1. Similarly, runners up from A and C joined winners from B and D in Group 2. So, this is how the two groups looked:
| Group 1 | Group 2 |
| India | England |
| Australia | USA |
| Afghanistan | West Indies |
| Bangladesh | South Africa |
After the completion of the Second Round on June 25, the top two teams in each Group will progress to the semi-finals, meaning the team placed first in Group 1 will play the team placed second in Group 2 in Semi-Final 1 in Trinidad.
Similarly, the team placed first in Group 2 will play the team placed second in Group 1 in Semi-Final 2 in Guyana. However, if India qualify for the semi-finals even as the team placed first in Group 1, the Men in Blue will play in Semi-Final 2 in Guyana.
As of June 25, defending champions England (2nd Placed) and South Africa (1st Placed) have confirmed their spots from Group 2, while India (1st Placed) and Afghanistan (2nd Placed) from Group 1 have also sealed their places.
The Super 8 matches conclude on June 24. Following the completion of the Super Eights, the four teams will then progress to the semi-final which will be played across two venues on Wedneday (June 26) and Thursday (June 27). Here is a look at the venues followed by the fixtures list:
