South Africa qualified for the Super Eight stage in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the Caribbean as the first team from Group D as the unbeaten side, winning all their four group stage matches.
Although they remained undefeated in the first round, the Proteas have not looked their best as they scraped past their opponents in all the four matches. However, they were the first team to qualify for Super 8s as the remaining teams in the group faltered.

Aiden Markram's men had sealed their Super 8 spot following a 4-run victory over Bangladesh in their third match. In the opener, the Proteas bundled out Sri Lanka for 77, but stuttered on their way to the target on a challenging New York surface.
The results against Netherlands also was not straightforward as the Proteas needed David Miller's fighting knock to chase down a meagre 104 at the same New York venue, where they also beat Bangladesh.
Their final game against Nepal was a thriller as they sealed a 1-run victory over minnows Nepal when defending a total of 115. South Africa, however, had confirmed their spot in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 even before that huge escape.
From Group A, T20 World Cup 2024 co-hosts USA qualified for Super 8 Group 2 alongside England from Group B, the fellow tournament co-hosts West Indies from Group C and South Africa from Group D.
The Super 8 matches will be staged across four venues in the Caribbean - Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda), Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium (Gros Islet, St Lucia), Kensington Oval (Bridgetown, Barbados) and Arnos Vale Ground (Kingstown, St. Vincent).
Each team will play three matches in the Super 8 stage with the group winner and runner up progressing to the next round. The matches will be staged from June 19 to June 24. Here is a look at when and who South Africa will face in the Super Eight stage:
