Suryakumar Yadav has equalled Virat Kohli with a unique record, but the former has his name at the summit because of his success rate, which is better than Kohli's.
India played Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight match on Thursday (June 20). Suryakumar played a crucial knock with the bat and thus contributed pivotally as Rohit Sharma's men started with a victory.

He scored 53 runs off just 28 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. The Indian batter started slowly in the T20 World Cup but has returned to form at the right time. Suryakumar is currently the no. 1 ranked batter in T20Is and he showed his worth with the brilliant innings, which earned him the Player of the Match award.
And with this, Suryakumar Yadav equalled the record for most Player of the Match award wins along with India stalwart Virat Kohli in T20I cricket. Both players now have won 15 POTM awards in T20 international matches.
Although both SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) and Kohli have the same number of awards, the former has earned the top spot for his superior success rate. Suryakumar Yadav has won 15 awards in just 64 matches, compared to 120 matches for Virat Kohli.
Kohli, in the match against Afghanistan, continued his underwhelming performance. The Indian batter only scored 24 runs and now has 29 runs in four matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
Malaysia'a Virandeep Singh, Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza and Afghanistan stalwart Mohammad Nabi are 2nd on the list as they all have 14 POTM awards in T20 cricket.
