Sri Lankan cricket legend Tillakaratne Dilshan has praised Virat Kohli for his sensational form, highlighting his recent achievements in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Kohli, who secured the Orange Cap with an astounding 741 runs, showcased his ability to adapt to the aggressive demands of modern T20 cricket, a transformation that Dilshan believes could be pivotal for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

"I think yes, Virat Kohli is in very good form at the moment and he's a match-winning player," said Dilshan exclusively to myKhel, reflecting on Kohli's impact, on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.
"But one player alone can't win you matches; everyone has to contribute. All three departments have to be spot on. India has the advantage because the IPL just finished. Virat is one of the match-winning players. Hopefully, he can carry his IPL form to the T20 World Cup."
India's campaign in the T20 World Cup kicks off on June 5 against Ireland at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York. Following this, a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan at the same venue on June 9 awaits. Kohli's form will undoubtedly be a focal point as India aims for success on the global stage.
Dilshan, who was part of the Sri Lankan team that clinched the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 title, also shared his insights on the conditions in the West Indies and the potential advantages for Asian teams.
"I think everyone will have a challenge and all the top teams never played in the US. After coming to the Super 8 rounds, all the Asian teams have an advantage because of West Indies tracks and they have turning pitches and that's a huge advantage for the Asian teams. I feel one of the Asian teams will win this T20 World Cup."
All eyes are on Kohli to replicate his IPL heroics on the global stage as Team India begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland in New York on June 5.
