Virat Kohli has etched his name as the first player to achieve a unique record in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final against South Africa.
The Indian batter was sublime in the final against the Proteas and weathered the storm to rise high and put India in a decent position.

Kohli made a fantastic start with three boundaries in the first over. With Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav getting dismissed in a jiffy, Kohli had to play an anchor role and he did that superbly. The batter reached his half-century and then cut loose.
In the end, Kohli scored 76 runs off 59 deliveries as India posted 176 runs after batting first.
With his knock in the final, Kohli also toppled Gautam Gambhir to become the highest scorer for India in a T20 World Cup final. Gambhir scored 75 runs in the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan.
But apart from that, Kohli has registered another piece of unique record which is new in the T20 World Cup history.
Virat Kohli was going through a lean patch in the T20 World Cup. The batter scored two ducks in the last seven matches of the tournament and only accumulated 75 runs before the Final.
With 76 runs in the final, Kohli has eclipsed his total runs tally before the summit clash. The 35-year-old has now become the only cricketer in World Cup history to score more runs in the final than the entire tournament combined.
