West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards awarded the best fielder medal after India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs in the Super 8 match on Saturday (June 22) to set one foot in T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-Final from Group 1.

Team India remained unbeaten in the T20 World Cup 2024 following their victory over Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda.

Defending 196, Kuldeep Yadav (3 for 19) and Jasprit Bumrah (2 for 13) played key roles as India restricted Bangladesh to 146 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Earlier, Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 50 off 27 balls powered India to a huge total.

During the game there were some excellent fielding efforts with both ground fielding and catching, and after the game as usual fielding coah T Dilip made a small speech before announcing the best fielder nominees and the unique awarder.

Dilip revealed Suryakumar Yadav, skipper Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel as the three nominees before introducing Richards to do the honours and the whole dressing room were on the feet to welcome the legend.

Richards then congratulated the team and wished them go all the way in the tournament before Dilip handed over the medal to be presented to the winner - Suryakumar, who took a stunning catch running in from deep square leg to dismiss Litton Das.

Suryakumar was the fourth different recipient of the medal, which was introduced by the fielding coach at the start of last year's ODI World Cup and then continued again in the ongoing show-piece tournament. Here is a look at all the winners so far:

Tean India will next look to seal a semi-final spot and possibly knockout Australia when the two former champions collide on Monday (June 24) at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.
