The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is rewriting the playbook for global cricket viewership, propelled by explosive growth in digital metrics that eclipse every previous edition.

With ICC.tv and the Council's social channels leading the charge, this tournament is on pace to claim the crown as the most-watched and interactive ICC event ever, driven by jaw-dropping percentage hikes in users, watch time, and reach into untapped markets.

T20 World Cup 2026 Peaks, overtakes 2024 Final

ICC.tv, the go-to streaming platform for fans in expanding cricket territories, obliterated its concurrent viewership record during the India-West Indies Super 8 clash, topping the peak from the 2024 final. The platform has already outpaced the entire 2024 tournament in total users and minutes watched. At this stage, unique users are up a staggering 28%, while total playtime has surged 56% compared to 2024's Super 8 phase.

On social media, ICC channels have racked up over 10 billion video views and are barreling toward surpassing the 16 billion from 2024, underscoring a digital frenzy unlike any before.

It's not just more viewers-it's deeper immersion. Average watch time per unique user has climbed to 58 minutes, a 23% jump from the 47 minutes logged at the 2024 Super 8 stage. Multi-language streams, now powering nearly half of total playtime, are fueling this loyalty. Non-English feeds in Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Japanese, and Bahasa Indonesia dominate the top streams, with three of the five biggest occupying that slot-making cricket more personal and accessible worldwide.

The real story lies in non-traditional territories, where user growth has exploded by 69%. Germany leads with a 150% spike in unique users over 2024, Italy close behind at 136%. Japan and South Korea have both delivered over 100% growth in views and users, signaling cricket's accelerating global footprint in Europe and Asia.

These hikes align perfectly with the ICC's vision for its most inclusive event yet. From record concurrent peaks and stickier viewing sessions to a surge in diverse geographies, the 2026 T20 World Cup is proving cricket's universal appeal-bigger, bolder, and more borderless than ever.
