New Zealand have made a breathtaking start in their run chase of 170 against South Africa in the blockbuster T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final in Kolkata on Wednesday. In the process, the black caps registered their highest power play score in a T20 World Cup knockout, surpassing England's 67/0 against the Kiwis in the 2016 semis.
The Kiwis also broke their own record of registering the highest run in the powerplays bettering their score of 78/0 against the UAE in Chennai earlier in the tournament.
