The teams are divided into four groups of five, with each team playing four matches in the group stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, which consists of two groups of four teams each. The best two teams from each Super Eight group will move on to the knockout rounds, culminating in the semi-finals and a final to decide the world champions.

The final, as well as the opening match, is slated to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket stadium globally.
