Colombo, Feb 3: Sri Lanka have confirmed their final squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on February 7 in co-hosting nations India and Sri Lanka. The 15-member squad, led by seasoned campaigner Dasun Shanaka, blends experience and youth as the island nation aims to make a strong impact on home soil.
The Sri Lankan squad features a strong top order with batters such as Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera, offering depth and aggression at the top of the innings. Middle-order options include Charith Asalanka and the recalled Kamindu Mendis, who adds spin and batting flexibility.

Sri Lanka's bowling unit is anchored by a combination of pace and spin, with pacers Dushmantha Chameera and Eshan Malinga, alongside spin stars Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage, ensuring variety and control in the middle overs. The inclusion of Matheesha Pathirana further strengthens the pace attack with raw pace and death-bowling skills.
One of the notable changes from earlier provisional selections was the exclusion of Dhananjaya de Silva due to recent form issues, with Pavan Rathnayake stepping in as his replacement. This last-minute tweak reflects Sri Lanka's adaptive planning ahead of the high-stakes global tournament.
