The ICC T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has exploded into its Super 8 phase with the top eight teams vying for semifinal spots.

After the group stage ended on February 20, these qualifiers split into two groups of four, each contesting three round-robin matches. The top two from each advance to semifinals on March 4 and 5, leading to the final on March 8.

Group 1 pits dominant India against gritty South Africa, upstart Zimbabwe, and explosive West Indies on subcontinental pitches that reward spin and test power hitters with expansive boundaries. Group 2 unleashes Pakistan, home-soil Sri Lanka, title-holders England, and steady New Zealand on turning tracks where dew could sway tosses in night games.

Pakistan, Group A survivors, unleash Babar Azam's silken strokeplay and Shaheen Afridi's swinging deathovers, opening vs New Zealand on February 21 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Sri Lanka, Group B leaders and co-hosts, harness Wanindu Hasaranga's spin sorcery and Pathum Nissanka's consistency, clashing with England on February 22 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

England, prior champions from Group C, rally behind Jos Buttler and a revitalized Jofra Archer to chase another crown.
