T20 World Cup: India's win against Bangladesh in their second Group 1 Super 8 match will not guarantee them a place in the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2024, and they will have to wait for a confirmation ticket.
India are currently placed second in the Super 8 Group 1 after beating Afghanistan by 47 runs. Their Net Run Rate (NRR) is a positive +2.350. Australia have also won their first match but are ahead of India due to a better NRR of +2.350.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh - the two other team in the Super 8 Group 1 - have lost their respective first matches. Another defeat would end their semi-finals hope for once and all.
If India defeat Bangladesh on Saturday and Australia beat Afghanistan on Sunday morning, both the teams will have four points from two matches. Bangladesh and Afghanistan are scheduled to play their last Super 8 match against each other, and there will be no opportunity left for either of these two teams to finish the Super 8 round with four points.
However, if Afghanistan and Bangladesh win their games against Australia and India respectively, things would get spicy in Group 1. The winners of the match between India vs Australia on Monday (June 24), and Bangladesh vs Afghanistan match on Tuesday will qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals in that case.
In case Bangladesh beat India in Super 8, India will not be able to afford losing their match against Australia. If Bangladesh beat India, and Australia beat Afghanistan, Bangladesh will have a serious chance of qualifying for the semi-final by beating Afghanistan.
Even if India win their last Super 8 match against Australia, Bangladesh will have a chance of going past India's NRR and qualify for the last-four round.
India will qualify for semi-finals despite losing against Bangladesh if they beat Australia and Afghanistan beat Bangladesh. This is the most straight path for India to qualify for semi-finals after losing Bangladesh. NRR would come into play in aforementioned other scenarios. Australia can land in a similar situation if Afghanistan beat them on Sunday.
The two teams will have to split the two points among themselves. If Australia beat India, Bangladesh would be able to equal India's three points with a win over Afghanistan on Tuesday. But might fall behind India in terms of NRR which is - 2.471 before facing the Men in Blue.
Afghanistan have a NRR of - 2.350 and are exactly in the same situation as Bangladesh. They will first have to beat Australia and Bangladesh, and have four points with a better NRR than the other team which finishes with four points.
