T20 World Cup: 'He will be different with Blue Jersey' - Harbhajan Singh backs Hardik Pandya to perform in India Colours

By MyKhel Staff

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh will be rooting for Hardik Pandya during the T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA.

It has been a difficult period for Hardik Pandya, who has been enduring multifaceted issues. The debut season at Mumbai Indians as captain was a disaster as they finished at the bottom of the table.

Pandya was also at the centre point of a huge mass rage, as MI fans themselves abused, and booed the player during the IPL season. Along with that, rumours have emerged regarding Hardik's potential split with his wife Natasa Stankovic.

Amid this, the player will be travelling to the USA for India's T20 World Cup campaign. And Harbhajan Singh has nothing but empathy for Pandya and said that he will be cheering for the MI skipper in the World Cup.

"When he wears that blue jersey, he will be a different Hardik Pandya because we know he can score those runs and take those wickets. I want Hardik to come good as he has gone through a lot and I wish him all the very best to have a very good tournament for India," Harbhajan told PTI in an interview.

"If he has a good tournament, obviously India will have a great chance to go forward. Yes, his form is a bit of a concern...and a lot of other stuff was going on around him, his shifting from Gujarat to Mumbai, was a big change and the team (MI) didn't react too well to Hardik coming back and that too as captain," Harbhajan added.

It is to be seen how team India performs in the T20 event after the heartbreak in the 50-over World Cup last year. India have been slotted in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada.
