T20 World Cup: List of teams who have qualified directly for the 2026 edition to be held in India and Sri Lanka

T20 World Cup: USA joined the list of teams to earn direct qualification for the T20 World Cup 2026 after qualifying for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday (June 14).

All the teams qualifying for the Super 8 round of the ongoing ninth edition will qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026. Sri Lanka failed to move to the second round but would qualify directly as they are the co-hosts.

Apart from Sri Lanka and the eight Super 8 teams including hosts India, three highest-ranked teams on the ICC T20I rankings as of June 30, 2024 will also qualify directly for the T20 World Cup 2026. The remaining eight spots of the 20-team event will be decided through ICC's regional qualifiers pathway.

Full Members Pakistan and New Zealand failed to qualify for the Super 8 but are currently ranked sixth and seventh currently in the latest ICC T20I rankings for teams. England are competing against Scotland for a place in the Super 8. They will gain an automatic qualification even if they fail as they are ranked fourth currently. Ireland and Scotland will also stand a chance of direct qualification.

• Pakistan (Ranked 7th as on Monday, June 17)

One between Ireland and Scotland will take the 12th and last team to earn direct qualification for T20 World Cup 2026. Ireland are currently ahead of Scotland with three points. The article will be updated on June 30.
