T20 World Cup semifinal: Tricolor 'set on fire' in Jammu

Jammu, Apr 1: Police registered a case against a student of Government Dental College here for allegedly setting the national flag on fire last night after India lost the semifinals of the T20 World Cup.

"We received reports that a student at the Dental College, Jammu, allegedly set the tricolor on fire after India lost the semifinal match against West Indies in the T20 World Cup tournament last evening," SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta said.

He said a case has been registered against the accused and investigations started to ascertain the truth.

"The concerned Station House Officer (SHO), Dy SP and SP have been instructed to probe the allegations for which the case has been registered," he said. Meanwhile, various student organisations held a protest and demanded action against the accused for the incident.
