T20 World Cup-Winning Trio Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya & Suryakumar Yadav Lauded in Ambani Sangeet Ceremony

T20 World Cup-winning trio of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav received huge ovation during the sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai on Friday (July 5) night.

The sangeet wasn't only about stunning performances and celebrity appearances as Nita Ambani, the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, organized a special puja (prayer ceremony) for the players.

Nita Ambani made sure the cricketers were treated like VIPs as she introduced the World Cup heroes with the iconic song 'Lehra Do' from the movie '83' playing in the background.

The audience cheered loudly as Rohit, Suryakumar and Pandya stepped into the spotlight. Nita opened up on how the T20 World Cup win is so personal for her since the three stalwarts are also part of her Mumbai Indians family.

Reliving the excitement of the T20 World Cup final and the thrilling last over, Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson, Nita Ambani mentioned how the nation watched with bated breath and with hearts in their mouths as the Indian team pulled out victory out of a nearly impossible situation.

Lauding Pandya, who bowled the last over, Nita Ambani said, "Tough Times don't last but tough people do." Mukesh Ambani also echoed similar sentiment as he congratulated the cricketers for making India proud. He mentioned how it took him back to the feeling of the last Indian World Cup win of 2011.

Another T20 World Cup winning hero and Mumbai Indians player Jasprit Bumrah could not attend the event as he was travelling. However, there were some familiar faces in the audience.

Several other India cricketers; including Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Krunal Pandya, KL Rahul and legendary former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also attended the event and were among the audience when the trio were lauded.

Apart from the cricketers, the event was graced by many other celebrities including Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and several other celebrities marked their presence at the functions of Anant and Radhika at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai on Friday.
