Virat Kohli got dismissed cheaply yet again in the T20 World Cup 2024 as he departed only after 9 runs against England in the semifinal.
India was put into bat by England skipper Jos Buttler and it was yet another underwhelming outing for Virat Kohli.

The India stalwart started his innings slowly. He managed only a solitary run in his first six balls. But then Kohli hit the first six of the match in the bowling of Reece Topley over deep mid-wicket. Just when the feeling was good among the Indian fans, disaster struck as Topley castled the Indian batter.
It was a poor outing from Kohli again in the T20 World Cup, who hasn't been at his best at all in this tournament. Kohli has scored only 75 runs in seven innings and has scored only at an average of 10.71.
But the 35-year-old was being tipped to create history in the match against England. Kohli has a sublime record in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup. The India batter had played in three semifinals before today and scored three half-centuries in those matches.
Kohli scored an unbeaten 72 off just 44 balls against South Africa in 2014. He then backed it up with an unbeaten 89 off just 47 balls against West Indies in 2016. And in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Kohli scored 50 runs off 40 balls against England.
If Kohli had scored another fifty in Guyana, he would have been the first batter to score four consecutive fifties in T20 World Cups. But sadly the record has run its course with three.
