South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi raised questions on Suryakumar Yadav's sensational catch in the T20 World Cup 2024 final by reaction to a viral video on the internet.
The video shows a group of friends arguing over a catch dismissal near the boundary line. The batting team could be seen convincing the fielding side that the player crossed the pre-decided boundary line while taking the catch.

The fielder held his foot position as a rope is used to give substance to the imaginary boundary line and make the final judgement. After the intense argument and use of 'rope technology', the batter is awarded a six.
"If they used this method to check the catch in the world cup final maybe it would have been given not out," Tabraiz Shamsi wrote reacting to the video.
However, he later clarified that it was just a joke, and Surya's catch was legit.
As South Africa needed 16 off six balls to win the T20 World Cup 2024 title, David Miller blasted a Hardik Pandya delivery towards long off. When everyone thought that the ball would sail over the boundary rope, Suryakumar Yadav sprinted for his life to grab a stunner. He caught the ball and quickly released it in the air as he crossed the boundary line. Surya then came back in the playing field again to complete a catch which secured India's win by seven runs to end a 13-year-old world cup drought.
Indian fans slammed Shamsi for raising doubts on Suryakumar Yadav's catch. "Cmon man don't start crying and become sore losers like England and Pakistan," a fan wrote.
"South Africa choking since 1992.. Pakistan crying since 2007 I think.. Just priceless," another one wrote.
South Africa recently lost a 3-match Test series against West Indies 0-3.
