Tamil Nadu's resurgence in white-ball cricket will be tested in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, scheduled to take place from December 21.
With experienced campaigner R. Sai Kishore at the helm and Narayan Jagadeesan as his deputy, Tamil Nadu's 16-member squad features a blend of experienced stars and promising young pacers.

Injuries to key bowlers Gurjapneet Singh (groin) and R. Sonu Yadav (knee) have opened doors for emerging talents C.V. Achyuth, D. Deepesh, and R.D. Pranav Ragavendra. These youngsters will share the pace burden alongside veteran Sandeep Warrier, Tamil Nadu's spearhead. KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy is also added to the squad.
Chairman of selectors K. Shri Vasudeva Das explained the decision to include new faces.
"We thought this was a good time to get some youngsters and also look to plan for the next few years. Deepesh and Pranav were in the travelling reserves for the India Under-19 team, and we are rewarding them for their hard work," he said.
This fresh approach comes at a critical time for Tamil Nadu, which, despite its rich legacy, has struggled in recent white-ball tournaments.
Tamil Nadu, a five-time champion in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, will be aiming to continue their prowess in the 50-over domestic tournament. Their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 campaign ended prematurely in the group stage, with just three wins from seven matches.
R. Sai Kishore (captain), N. Jagadeesan (vc), B. Indrajith, C. Andre Siddharth, Boopathi Vaishna Kumar, Tushar Raheja, Shahrukh Khan, S. Mohamed Ali, Sandeep Warrier, D. Deepesh, C.V. Achyuth, R.D. Pranav Ragavendra, S. Ajith Ram, Varun Chakravarthy, Vijay Shankar, Pradosh Ranjan Paul
Tamil Nadu are placed in Group D and will start its campaign with a match against Chandigarh on December 21. All of Tamil Nadu's group stage matches will be played in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
