Tammy Beaumont Breaks England Century Record with Unbeaten 150 Runs in Dominant Win Over Ireland

England opener Tammy Beaumont showcased her batting prowess with a stunning unbeaten 150-run knock as England crushed Ireland by 275 runs in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Stormont.

Beaumont's scintillating innings came off 139 balls, featuring 17 boundaries and a six, cementing her position as one of the greatest batters in women's ODIs.

Beaumont's Records:

• Beaumont surpassed Charlotte Edwards to become the leading century-maker for England in women's ODIs with her 10th century.
• She now ranks third globally for most centuries in women's ODIs, trailing only Meg Lanning (15) and Suzie Bates (13).
• Beaumont holds two of the top four individual scores for England in ODIs, with her 150* following her 168* against Pakistan in 2016.
• She became the fastest women's cricketer in England to reach 4000 runs in ODI. She only took 110 innings to achieve this amazing feat.

Reflecting on her achievements, Beaumont noted, "Since I was about four I've been told I can't do a lot of things and I've proved a lot of people wrong. I've broken a few records, but I don't have to keep proving myself, I just have to keep playing and enjoying it."

England posted a commanding 320 for 8, with Beaumont playing a pivotal anchor role, building her innings patiently after her partner Emma Lamb was run out. Beaumont then partnered with Freya Kemp, who scored 65 off 47 balls, to form a crucial 101-run stand.

Ireland's response was lackluster, as their batting lineup faltered under pressure. Bowled out for a mere 45, Ireland recorded their lowest total in women's ODIs. England's bowlers were ruthless, with Kate Cross and Lauren Filer each taking three wickets.

Georgia Davis and Freya Kemp also chipped in with two wickets apiece. Cross's opening spell was particularly devastating, as she removed Ireland's top three batters within the first nine balls, leaving the team reeling.

The dominant win not only gave England an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series but also secured them enough Championship points to qualify for the 2025 Women's World Cup. The teams will face off again on September 11 for the final ODI.
