Tanvir shines as royals thrash Chennai by 8 wickets to top table

Jaipur, May 4 (UNI) Sensational bowling performance by Sohail Tanvir (6 for 14) and fine batting by the top order led Rajasthan Royals to an eight wicket victory over favourites Chennai Super Kings in the IPL cricket tournament at the SMS stadium here tonight.

Rajasthan Royals has thus recorded fifth victory in a row after having lost their opening tie and they are on top of the eight team league table.Chennai has lost for the second time after having won four matches.

Tanvir's ever best bowling in this version of the game,had helped Rajasthan Royals restrict to their opponants to only 109 with one over still remaining.Chasing a none too imposing target of 110 to win ,Rajasthan Royals with the help of 78 run opening wicket stand of Graeme Smith and Asnodkar achieved the same losing only two wickets in only 14.2 overs.

Graeme Smith and Shane Watson returned unbeaten on 35 (44 balls) and 14 runs respectively.
