Team India etched their name into the record books for registering the most wins against an opposition in a T20 World Cup history following their thrilling victory over Pakistan in the group stage match of T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9 (Sunday).
The Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma came under fire for recording their lowest-ever total in the T20 World Cup as they were skittled out for 119 against Pakistan. However, they managed to turn the tables around by restricting Pakistan to 113/7 in 20 overs and won the game by 6 runs.

There was just one instance when the electrifying clash between India and Pakistan ended in a tie, where bowl-out was used to determine the result in the group stage match of T20 World Cup 2007. Notably, India won the bowl-out successfully.
Pakistan have a poor head-to-head record against India in T20 World Cups, with their solitary win coming against India in the T20 World Cup 2021 group stage clash. Apart from that, India always came out on top much to Pakistan's annoyance in all other meetings.
On the other hand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the other two teams that registered the most wins against an opponent in T20 World Cups. Pakistan recorded six wins against Bangladesh whereas Sri Lanka recorded six wins against the West Indies. Bangladesh are yet to register a win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup whereas West Indies won twice against Sri Lanka.
