Team India to return in early hours tomorrow after WC debacle
Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) A shattered Indian cricket team will return back home in the early hours tomorrow morning to angry fans after their disastrous World Cup campaign where the title contendrs failed to even make it to the Super Eights.
The Administrative head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Prof Ratnakar Shetty told UNI that some of the players would arrive in Mumbai, while the South and North-based players would travel directly to their destinations.
The hyped cricketers are likely to face not-so-friendly fans on thier return home when the serious business in the Caribbean has just only begun.
The BCCI is expected to hold a special working committee meeting in Mumbai on April 6 and 7 to take stock of the situation and some harsh decisions are likely to come out of the meeting.
The Board willbe holding discussions with some prominent former captains like Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar to seek their advise on the best way forward for the team now.
The fate of Greg Chappell and captain Rahul Dravid is likely to be taken at the crucial meeting with the coach widely tipped to get the marching orders while Dravid will find it hard to remain the captain of Team India.
