Tendulkar announces return to form, India make mammoth 341 for 3
Vadodara, Jan 31 (UNI) Sachin Tendulkar slammed a 76-ball hundred and Sourav Ganguly and skipper Rahul Dravid also cracked fifties as India piled up 341 for three against West Indies in the fourth and final one-dayer at the IPCL ground here today.
West Indies require 342 at just under seven runs an over to win the match and square the series which India is leading 2-1 at the moment.
India having got stuck in the last match after a promising start, did not let the opportunity slip after visiting captain Brian Lara surprisingly asked them to bat first.
Openers, Robin Uthappa and Ganguly got India off to a brisk start against the military medium pace of Darren Powell and Dwayne Smith.
The young Uthappa started from where he left of in Chennai to get his team off to a flyer.
He started off with a superb on driven four of the second ball of the innings bowled by Powell.
The young Bangalore-lad had set his sights on Powell whom he treated with the utmost disdain as boundaries flowed from his bat.
He also hit two massive sixers of Powell. However, Uthappa failed to convert this start into something substantial as he was out edging a delivery which left him after pitching from Powell straight to Chris Gayle at first slip. Uthappa made a breezy 17-ball 28 which included three fours and two sixers.
