Tendulkar arrives in city ahead of cricket camp

Bangalore, Sep 28 (UNI) Star batsman Sachin Tendulkar arrived in the city today ahead of the six-day conditioning camp for the Indian squad that takes on Australia in the four-Test match series beginning at M Chinnaswamy stadium here on October nine.

The six-day camp would begin here tomorrow under the watchful eyes of coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Pady Upton.

Tendulkar who has suffered an injury in right elbow during the last Sri Lanka tour was passed fit by NCA physio and trainer Paul Close and Paul Chapman.

Earlier, Indian Test captain Anil Kumble, right-hand batsman Rahul Dravid and speedster R P Singh arrived in the city in the afternoon.

The official sources said the probables would undergo the conditioning camp from tomorrow at National Cricket Academy(NCA) campus, adjoining the cricket stadium.

Other senior members, barring those taking part in the President's XI team that plays Aussies in the four-day game beginning in Hyderabad from October two, also arrived in the city tonight.

The squad for the first two Tests would be announced during the week, the sources added.
