Tendulkar gives cricket tips, Dravid shoots for IPL promo

Mussoorie (Uttarakhand)/ Bangalore, Mar 19 : Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, on a vacation in Mussoorie, gave tips to a woman cricketer.

Anju Tomar, a woman cricketer, said Sachin's tips were more on attitude than the intricacies of the game itself.

"I asked him about cricket. I told him that I am an all-rounder and asked him how to become a good cricketer. He advised me to concentrate on the game and avoid any other trivial issues. He also said there's no politics involved in the game. And a good player always succeeds in achieving his or her dream," she said.

Tendulkar was visiting Mussoorie with his family. Former skipper Rahul Dravid is using his time away from the field shooting a promotional video for the Indian Premier League (IPL) that begins next month.

The film is to project IPL's Royal Challengers, which owned by Vijay Mallya of the UB Group and has Dravid as its icon player.

"We have been doing shooting and such stuff for many years now. So, every time we do, it's a new experience. IPL is a new experience and it was nice to do some shooting with Karnataka players," Dravid said. The 44-day IPL starts on April 18 and will feature eight franchisees with 16-man squads in its inaugural season.

With eight teams in the fray, there would be seven matches for each team to be played under 'Home and Away basis'.

The league, which is expected to feature many of the game's top players, is an effort to counter he rebel ICL Twenty20 League, which began late last year.
