Tendulkar to keep date with Sunfeast Open: Mahesh

Kolkata, Sep 17 (UNI) Indian tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi today said Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will keep his date with the ongoing Sunfeast Open here despite his busy cricketing committments.

Bhupathi, who landed here today, said, ''Sachin will be certainly coming. May be he wont be able to come tomorrow because of his commitments with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).'' ''But, I am sure he will grace the occasion once during the week long event,'' Bhupathi, whose sports management company Globosports promotes this Sony Ericsson WTA Tier III event, said.

This puts an end to the speculations regarding the Little Master's date with the city for the promotion of the tennis tournament.

Tendulkar was scheduled to come to the city tomorrow. But, the sudden resignation of Rahul Dravid as captain of Team India had sent all plans haywire.

BCCI sounded the Little Master with an offer for the post of Indian cricket team's captaincy and he has reportedly not declined the offer.

Sachin was supposed to have come here today and take part in an informal meet in the Millennium Park. Later in the evening, he was to play a fun tennis match with Sania Mirza, Bhupathi and another star player of the tournament.
