Terror Warning:Taliban threatens Pakistani media over Sachin Tendulkar

New Delhi, Nov 28: Praising God of Cricket -- Sachin Tendulkar is nothing new for media worldwide. But now it seems that it might be risky for Pakistani media who recently received warning from terror group Taliban for praising the Indian cricketer.

Irrespective of Sachin's achievement and qualifications, Pakistani Taliban asked media organisations of the country to stop praising the star player. Media from across the world including Pakistan was busy to cover stories on Sachin who recently put an end to his cricket career after formally retiring from the sports.

Pakistan's most influential English daily Dawn wrote, "Rated by critics and contemporaries as arguably the greatest postwar batsman to have played the game, Tendulkar continued to rewrite the record books with his brilliant batting skills since making his debut against Pakistan in Karachi way back in 1989."

However, such praise for an Indian by Pakistani media irked the terror group which sent a video threatening the media houses. The video shows a Talibani commander saying, "We have been monitoring Pakistani media, including news channels and newspapers, for the past three weeks and got to know how was Pakistani media praising Indian cricketer during his farewell bid to international cricket."

Continuing his statement, the commander added, "It was unfortunate to see Pakistani media went to great extent to pay tribute to Indian cricketer by running video clips on TV channels and writing huge articles in his praise."

Shame for Pakistani media that spoke highly of Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar

The terror group, however, accepted that Sachin indeed is a great player while saying, "Shame for Pakistani media that spoke highly of Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. No doubt, he has been a great cricketer, but, he's Indian after all, so stop promoting him."

The terror group also slammed the media of the country for criticising Pakistan cricket team who lost a series to South Africa recently.

In its warning, Taliban said, "On the other hand, it was sad to know same Pakistani media badly criticised Pakistani cricket team as well as its captain Misbah-ul-Haq. We condemn this move of Pakistani media and expect it will not repeat the same in future."
