India star Yuzvendra Chahal picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings for Northamptonshire in their County Championship Division Two match against Derbyshire on Tuesday, September 10.
The 34-year-old, who hasn't played a single Test match for India till date, registered figures of 5/45 in 16.3 overs as Derbushire were bundled out for 165. The leg-spinner picked the wickets of Wayne Madsen, Aneurin Donald, Zak Chappell, Alex Thomson, and Jack Morley.

The five-fer helped Yuzvendra Chahal complete his 100th first-class wicket. The Haryana-born cricketer is playing in his 38th first-class match. He has often expressed his ambition to play Test cricket for India.
"Every cricketer has a dream of representing his/her team on the international platform. And they reach the pinnacle when they wear whites and play red-ball cricket. I have a similar dream too. I have achieved a lot in white-ball cricket, but red-ball is still on my checklist. I still have the dream of getting the tag of 'Test cricketer' next to my name. I try to give my best in domestic and Ranji games so as to fulfill this dream of mine, and I hope to get the opportunity of representing the Indian Test team soon," Chahal had told Crictracker in an interview in June last year.
Yuzvendra Chahal has once again been dropped from the Indian white-ball team after the T20 World Cup 2024. The tweaker was part of India's T20 World Cup 2024 side which lifted the trophy on June 29 in Barbados, but he did not play a single match in the ICC tournament.
He was not included in the team's T20I tour of Zimbabwe, and was also dropped from the white-ball squads which travelled to Sri Lanka. Chahal was also not given a central contract by the BCCI earlier this year.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who last played for India in August 2023, has been impressive for Northamptonshire. He also picked a five-wicket haul for them in a One-Day Cup match against Kent on August 14.
