The Hundred 2023 Squads: Teams List After First-Ever Women’s Hundred Draft

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was reunited with her Women's Premier League (WPL) teammate Nat-Sciver Brunt during the first-ever Women's Hundred Draft on Thursday (March 23).

The Hundred Women's Competition features eight teams and each squad had to fill 15 slots in three stages, the retention of a maximum of four players, then 34 players picked via draft picks followed by the open market picks, which is after the draft.

The rosters will be filled by an open market process, similar to that which has previously been used for the women's recruitment process. This will take place between March and June 2023. The Hundred is slated to be held in August this year.

The draft picks and retained players received salary from bands A to F, with A being the most expensive. Teams were allowed to sign a maximum of three overseas players, and three England Women central contract players.

As for retentions, Welsh Fire was the only one to go lower than four as they retained just three. India's Smriti Mandhan was one of the players retained by Southern Brave.

Fire, who further lost another player on the eve of the draft, finished at the foot of the table in 2022 and were allowed to select first followed by Spirit, Originals, Superchargers, Phoenix, Rockets, Brave and two-time defending champions Invincibles.
