The Hundred 2024: Nicholas Pooran showcased pure cricketing brilliance in The Hundred on Sunday's (August 11) encounter between Northern Superchargers and Manchester Originals.
The Caribbean smacked a 113-meter maximum en route to his quickfire half-century at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

Playing for Northern Superchargers, Nicholas Pooran went all guns blazing in the run-chase and gave the opposition bowlers a run for their money. The bowlers tried their maximum best to keep the Caribbean in check but the West Indies' power-hitter braved the challenges and came through with flying colours.
During the 74th delivery, the wicketkeeper-batter unleashed his fury when Scott Currie pitched in with a full-length delivery on leg-stump. In reply, the aggressive left-hander generated immense bat speed against the pace of the ball while also timing it to perfection like a hot knife through butter.
As it turned out, the ball travelled a long way towards the deep mid-wicket and went out of the ground. The spectators immensely enjoyed watching the ball go out of the ground. The sheer power and audacity of such a shot from Pooran had everyone on their feet, cheering and celebrating.
Earlier, Manchester Originals posted 152/7 in their allotted quota of 100 balls. Captain Phil Salt top-scored with 61 off 28 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 217.86. On the other hand, Northern Superchargers got the job done, courtesy of Nicholas Pooran's batting masterclass, for which he was adjudged the Player of the Match.
