'There Should Be A Line Of Sackings At KKR': Fans Furious After CSK's 32-Run Chepauk Thrashing

The clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 22 of the Indian Premier League 2026 turned into a one-sided affair at Chepauk, as CSK registered a commanding 32-run victory after a complete all-around performance.

Batting first, CSK posted a formidable total of 192/5 in 20 overs, built on a blazing Powerplay and steady middle-order contributions. Despite losing early wickets, the hosts raced to 72/2 in the first six overs, setting the tone for a strong innings. Ayush Mhatre provided early fireworks with a quick 38 off just 17 deliveries, smashing 6 fours and 2 sixes before falling at the end of the Powerplay. His aggressive start gave CSK the momentum they needed in the powerplay phase.

The middle overs were anchored by Dewald Brevis, who played a composed yet impactful knock of 41 off 29 balls. Later, Sanju Samson continued his excellent run of form with a fluent 48 off 32 balls, only to be dismissed by a thunderous 148 kmph delivery from Kartik Tyagi, who was one of the standout bowlers for KKR with figures of 2/35. Sunil Narine also kept things tight, finishing with 1/21 and maintaining control during the middle overs.

KKR Outfoxed By Noor-Akeal Duo

In response, KKR's chase never truly got going. Their experimental opening pair of Sunil Narine and Finn Allen struggled under pressure, managing only 36/2 in the Powerplay. The innings soon unraveled as CSK's spin attack took control.

The star of the show was Noor Ahmad, who delivered a match-winning spell of 3/21. He dismantled the KKR batting lineup by removing Ajinkya Rahane, Cameron Green (for a golden duck), and Rinku Singh. His spell broke the backbone of the chase and left KKR reeling.

Although Ramandeep Singh (35) and Rovman Powell (31*) offered some resistance with a 57-run partnership, the target always remained out of reach. KKR eventually finished at 160/7 in 20 overs, falling 32 runs short of the target.

With this victory, CSK continued their strong home form, while KKR were left searching for answers after a disappointing batting collapse.

'Ami KKR' Trends After Poor Show

A netizen expressed fan frustration over KKR's poor IPL 2026 performance, criticising team management, player selection, and batting failures, while blaming decisions for the team's ongoing struggles.

Another social media account suggested that there should be a series of sackings at KKR, starting with Venky Mysore.
