Three Reasons why Team India should win ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Team India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5, Wednesday at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma will be looking forward to starting the tournament on a positive note.

They are very much aware of the fact that their journey is going to be challenging as the tournament progresses. Case in point, India won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Since then, they failed to make a bid for the second prestigious title and they came close to holding the trophy for the second time in the 2014 edition but surrendered at the hands of Sri Lanka in the showdown. In this article, we will now stroll at the three strong reasons why Team India will win the T20 World Cup 2024.

1. One last dance for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

There will be a time when senior pros like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will need to make way for youngsters, particularly after they have passed their prime. The BCCI also needs to make sure that there is a steady pipeline of talent in the team's arsenal such that even when senior cricketers retire, the team doesn't get hit with a sudden experience void.

The experienced campaigners Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are certainly aware that this is going to be their last T20 World Cup. As a result, the duo will be giving absolutely everything to help the team win the title. More importantly, the duo is capable of assessing the conditions before going about their business, a trait that can surely come in handy in key games.

2. Swan song for Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid has confirmed that the current T20 World Cup 2024 is going to be his last tournament as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. The veteran has been serving as the head coach since November 2021.

Under his guidance, Team India reached two ICC finals (World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in 2023). Considering that this is going to be Dravid's one last dance as India's head coach, the players will give it their best shot at winning the title.

3. T20 experience

Team India have all the tools and ingredients to win the T20 World Cup 2024, courtesy of a strong pool of experienced T20 players. They understand the nuances of the format and might as well be able to contribute to the strength of the team in crunch situations.

Players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya have plenty of T20 experience to help India end the ICC title drought. Rohit Sharma was part of the T20 World Cup 2007 title-winning team. Besides that, he has won five IPL titles as Mumbai Indians captain.
