A Trip Down Memory Lane

In a recently surfaced video that caught fire on Reddit, Ravi took a stroll down memory lane and shared one of his most embarrassing moments—his first meeting with Amrita. The cricketer recounted that they met at a restaurant in Mumbai, and he was so shy he couldn’t squeeze out even a single word for ten whole minutes.

He knew he was shy, but he didn’t realize he could be so shy that he’d turn into a mute. When the interviewer asked if Amrita was chattering away while he was silent as a statue, Ravi nodded, admitting it was a cringe-worthy experience. He humorously recalled:

“Jab unse pehli baar mila... yeh ek restaurant mei tha Bombay mai aur jab main pehli baar mila unse toh pehle 10 minute mein maine ek shabd bhi nahi kaha. Mujhe pata tha ki main ladkiyon se kaafi shy tha lekin itna bhi nahi pata tha ki ek din aisa ayega ki mujhe chance hi nahi milega ek shabd bhi kehne ke liye 10 minute. This was my most embarrassing moment.

The Not-So-Dynamic Duo

Ravi and Amrita were quite the buzz back in the '80s, even gracing the cover of Cine Blitz magazine. However, their romance hit a snag when Ravi, in a rather "old-school" move, expressed that he didn’t want Amrita to work after marriage.

In his own words, he labeled himself as "chauvinistic," while Amrita stood her ground, stating, “At the moment I'm too involved in my career to give it up. But I'm sure after a couple of years, I will be ready to become a full-time wife and mother”.

After their split, Amrita married Saif Ali Khan, while Ravi eventually tied the knot with Ritu in 1990. However, both relationships faced their fair share of ups and downs. Amrita and Saif parted ways in 2004, and Ravi followed suit with Ritu after 22 years of marriage.
